Zoo Internship 2018

Last week I had my first day of the semester at the zoo. This semester I will be working as a docent at the Houston Zoo. I am the one talking to the guests and telling them about our animals and the zoo's goals and conservation efforts. This internship is only going to last about two months though because of a lot of schedule changes that are happening in 2019. So ya, I am going to work with what I have and make the best of the next few weeks.

I have an internship at the Houston Zoo. I work in the educational department with Colleen Cavanaugh. I go every Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:45am. I help to set up events. My latest project has been to help set up the 'World Lemur Festival' that is going to take place this weekend. I helped create the games that the kids will be able to play and got to learn about our conservation partner in Madagascar. I know that later in the year, I will be helping to set up the camp curriculum and I might get the chance to shadow some zoo keepers for the day.
